Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Magento 2 Developer with strong expertise in backend development, custom module and theme creation, performance optimization, and security enhancements. The ideal candidate should have solid proficiency in OOPS concepts, Magento 2 architecture, and API integrations, along with modern development practices such as Docker, code quality tools, and Magento unit testing. You will be responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance eCommerce solutions following industry best standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications • Develop and maintain custom Magento 2 modules, extensions, and backend features. • Work with Magento 2 architecture, including plugins, observers, service contracts, dependency injection, UI components, and EAV models. • Develop, customize, and maintain Magento 2 themes, including layout XML, PHTML, LESS/CSS, JavaScript, and UI libraries. • Customize catalog, checkout, cart, and order workflows as per business requirements. • Integrate Magento with third-party services such as payment gateways, ERPs, CRMs,PIM and shipping APIs. • Work extensively with REST/SOAP APIs, GraphQL, asynchronous queues, and message brokers. • Perform code quality checks using tools like GrumPHP, PHP_CodeSniffer, PHPStan, and Magento coding standards. • Create and maintain Magento 2 Unit Tests (PHPUnit) and ensure test coverage for custom modules. • Utilize Docker for local development, environment replication, and containerized workflows. • Optimize Magento for performance, focusing on caching, indexing, MySQL queries, and Redis/Elasticsearch. • Troubleshoot and debug issues across modules, themes, integrations, and customizations. • Work with Git, Composer, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments. • Implement security best practices, covering data validation, sanitization, CSRF/XSS protection, and secure coding. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end, QA, DevOps, and product owners. • Keep up-to-date with Magento updates, security patches, new features, and suggest improvements to the tech stack.
Optional / Good-to-Have Skills: • Experience with Hyvä theme development or Magento PWA Studio. • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, Varnish, or similar performance tools. • Understanding of Docker Compose / Kubernetes for scalable environments.
