Job Description: Role Overview

The Mainframe + ETL Production Support Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing L1/L1.5 production support for banking applications in a high-availability environment. The role requires strong expertise in mainframe operations, incident management, and application support, with the ability to independently analyze and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability and performance. Key Responsibilities

Provide expert L1/L1.5 production support for critical banking applications.

Handle P1 and P2 incidents through ServiceNow, ensuring quick resolution and minimal business impact.

Drive P1/P2 bridge calls and coordinate with multiple teams during critical outages.

Perform application management activities including monitoring, issue analysis, and production fixes.

Analyze production issues and implement fixes at the application or job level.

Perform daily and periodic health checks for applications and systems.

Monitor applications using Dynatrace or other enterprise monitoring tools.

Support mainframe batch operations and ensure smooth job executions.

Conduct quick job analysis and incident troubleshooting under tight SLAs.

Participate in root cause analysis and documentation of recurring issues. Required Skills & Experience

5–8 years of experience in Mainframe and ETL production support roles.

Extensive knowledge of the Banking domain.

Strong expertise in L1/L1.5 production support and application management.

Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS tools (CA7 is mandatory).

Strong knowledge of JCL coding, job structure, and mainframe operations.

Experience with DB2 utilities and production support activities.

Good understanding of NDM and JCL concepts.

Basic knowledge of SQL and Informatica tools.

Experience handling incidents and service requests in ServiceNow.

Ability to quickly analyze issues and resolve them at the production level.

L1 development or L2 production support experience is mandatory.

Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.

REXX scripting knowledge is optional but considered an advantage. Preferred Qualifications

ITIL certification.

Experience working in 24/7 production support environments.

Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

Prior experience supporting mission-critical banking systems.
