About the position

REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must have at least 5 years working experience as a Technical Author in a related field.
• Matric - preference will be given to applicants with a Technical Illustrator diploma or certificate.
• Demonstrated knowledge in current PTC software packages ie: ( windchill PDM link, PM link, Arbortext & Creo Illustrate) Required.
• Applicants must be meticulous & have a willingness to solve problems, do research and work in a task XXXX XXXX environment towards set goals.
• Negotiation & good written / communication skills are essential.
• Must be computer literate/proficient using MS Windows XP or later versions.
• Working knowledge of Corel Draw will be an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of Framemaker & Ventura will be an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of Mapics AS400, Adobe Acrobat or related software would be an added advantage.
• Applicants need to be self driven & motivated

DUTIES:

• Creating Illustrated component breakdowns of supplier components from parts
• Manual verification and validation responsibilities.
• Computer generated technical illustrating of machines, parts manuals,Operators manuals & Service manuals.
• Repair Manual creation and maintenance.
• Drawing of Decals in Corel draw.
• Compiling of all manuals up to the Internet stage.
• Setting up parts databases in manuals
• Research & information verification
• Compiling information for outsourcing & internal manual requirements
