About the position Candidate Attorney/Article Clerk Location: Bedfordview, Gauteng Employment Type: Full-time Reporting to: Managing Partner Salary: R10000 to R11000 p/m Job Purpose: The Candidate Attorney will undergo practical legal training while contributing to the firm's daily operations. This role provides exposure to a broad spectrum of legal work, enabling the candidate to gain practical experience in preparation for admission as an attorney. Key Responsibilities: Draft legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence under supervision. Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on various legal matters. Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and consultations where appropriate. Assist senior attorneys with case preparation, discovery, and trial support. Manage client files and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements. Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law relevant to the firm's practice areas. Participate in professional development and training programs offered by the firm. Required Qualifications: Relevant degree from an accredited South African university. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and organizational skills.
