About the position Workshop Manager reports to the Branch Manager - Johannesburg QALIFICATIONS Min Qualification: Electrician, Trade Test Purpose: To ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. To plan and organise production schedules, and timescales with clients and managers. Responsibilities & Duties: Include but not limited to: Planning and coordinating all production requirements with the Contract Manager and Workshop staff, additional Contract Management, if necessary. Ensure that panels are manufactured on time and up to standard. Maintaining a safe, clean and staff friendly workshop Work Shop environment at all times. Take necessary measures if unsafe situations are reported. Ensuring that staff are correctly placed, adequately equipped (including PPE), competent and trained if necessary. Contract all staff, assist management in training the workshop staff and arrange all training related matters. Develop new techniques for the production of panels and equipment and ensure that sheet steel products are efficiently ordered, handled, inspected and controlled. Ensuring integrity of hand tools through random inspections. All workshop testing functions and delegate the fixing of Punch List items. Enforce the recording, control and maintenance of all SHEQ documentation, i.e. Test Reports, QCP's, Acceptance Certificates, deliveries, invoicing, etc. Ensure packing and loading of panels is supervised. Ensure as-built mark-ups (in red) on drawings. Ensure manufacturing is in compliance with the the company engineering Manual, [Phone Number Removed];. Authorise overtime and timesheets. Site visits as required. Key Performance Indicators (KPI's): Compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS (workshop policies and controls). Assist with job descriptions for reporting staff. Performance appraisals twice annually for reporting staff (March and September). Housekeeping off the workshop. Repair, maintain and calibrate all workshop tools and instruments.
