Company Location UTCL is located along the Kampala Jinja highway near Lugazi municipal council in Buikwe district approximately 48 kilometers from Kampala City and 40 Kilometers from Jinja opposite Mt ST Mary’s College Namagunga. Company Main Activities The company mainly deals in the production of tea where 80% of the sales are for the international market and the local market 20%. Made Tea is exported to Mombasa in Kenya to the Auction market with other tea companies around East Africa and sold thereafter. The company also deals with other activities which include afforestation, coffee, cocoa and Bananas. UTCL produces over 3.5 million kilos of tea annually 10% of Uganda’s national output Positions available Apiarist Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain bee colonies to ensure healthy hives and optimal honey production. Monitor bee health, identify diseases and pests, and apply appropriate control measures. Carry out hive inspections and colony multiplication activities. Harvest, process, and store honey and other bee products following quality standards. Maintain apiary equipment and ensure safe handling practices. Keep basic records of hive performance and production. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Qualifications: Certificate or Diploma in Apiculture, Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field. Practical experience in beekeeping and apiary management. Knowledge of bee biology, hive management, and honey harvesting techniques. Ability to identify and manage common bee diseases and pests. Basic record-keeping and reporting skills. Willingness to work in field conditions and follow safety procedures Salary Range: Ushs. 350,000
