WASH Coordinator (Engineer)

Description

Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in water resources engineering, Civil and Building Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in WASH programming and technical design and supervision with 2 years in high risks environment/hard to reach locations. Proven expertise in deg and managing large-scale WASH and infrastructure projects in both development and humanitarian settings including design and supervision of solar powered piped water systems. Strong knowledge of WASH sector standards, government policies, and donor compliance frameworks (GoU, UNICEF, USAID, EU, UN agencies, World Bank) including O&M framework. Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, Epanet and other engineering/technical software is essential and Familiarity and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PPT, etc and prepare drawings and Bill of Q’ties. Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and resource mobilization. Proven technical and management expertise in terms of WASH project assessments, design, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation and stakeholder engagement. Good understanding of climate resilience water supply design principles and concepts, and use of any engineering applications for design of water supply systems. Demonstrated competencies within the Uganda WASH sector and experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder processes.
