Description

The Farmer Relations Officer (FRO) leads the Farmer Relations function in assigned regions. The role ensures strong farmer partnerships, smooth contract implementation, responsive issue resolution, and accurate farmer records for carbon payments, supporting long-term farmer participation in Kijani Forestry programs. Team leadership and supervision Supervise Farmer Relations Supervisors to ensure frontline coverage and quality. Conduct monthly performance reviews and coaching for supervisors. Track weekly activity completion across all assigned groups/gardens. Enforce ethical engagement standards and reporting discipline. Farmer Engagement and customer care Set farmer engagement schedules and ensure consistency of visits. Oversee complaint-handling systems and escalation responses. Support proactive communication to farmers on program timelines. Monitor farmer satisfaction trends and design improvement actions. Contract Oversight Guide contracting drives and ensure target coverage is achieved. Verify contract completeness, storage, and farmer understanding. Oversee renewals and follow up non-compliance cases. Coordinate contract-linked sensitization meetings with communities. Carbon Payment Readiness Ensure farmer records are verified and complete for carbon payments. Coordinate reconciliation of carbon payment claims with Finance/M&E. Track discrepancies and drive timely correction/closure. Communicate carbon payment requirements clearly to supervisors/field staff Cross Function Coordination Coordinate with Silviculture teams to enforce maintenance compliance. Participate in joint planning with Nursery Hub on farmer pipeline needs. Support joint training where farmer behaviour affects survival. Share high-risk farmer/group insights with technical teams. Reporting Submit weekly and monthly farmer relations dashboards. Provide exception reporting on drop-offs, disputes, or contract gaps. Track closure of action items from reviews. Maintain audit-ready farmer relations documentation. Qualifications and Skills: ● Diploma/Bachelor’s in Community Development, Agriculture, Social Sciences or related field. ● Minimum 2–3 years’ experience supervising farmer/community programs. ● Strong documentation, mediation and customer care skills. ● Motorcycle riding and field readiness.
