Sports Trading Analyst

BettingJobs is currently seeking a Sports Trading Analyst for a growing Sportsbook in their San José, Costa Rica office. The Sports Trading Analyst represents the interests of the R&D team and the trading team in a variety of ways. This role is perfect for someone who combines analytical rigor with a deep curiosity for how mathematical models shape real-time decisions in the high-stakes sports betting world. Responsibilities:

• Oversee and validate new model iterations, ensuring logical accuracy, functional reliability, and smooth integration into trading operations.
• Act as the main communication bridge between R&D and Trading, translating feedback, coordinating improvements, and facilitating a shared understanding of model behaviour.
• Monitor model performance and adoption, identifying opportunities to enhance usability, documentation, and overall decision-making efficiency. Requirements:
• Deep understanding of sports betting, odds mechanics, and gambling operations.
• Strong ability to communicate model logic and usability to traders, ensuring effective adoption across teams.
• Fluent in English.
• Technical experience with SQL, Python, MATLAB, and/or Excel would be strongly preferred.
• Strong sports betting knowledge.
• Expertise in gaming or strategy games would be advantageous.
