Safer Gambling Manager

BettingJobs is working with a new UKGC bookmaker who is looking for a Safer Gambling Manager to lead and continuously enhance their player protection framework. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the safer gambling strategy
• Ensure compliance with all UKGC regulations, guidance, and licensing objectives
• Oversee customer risk monitoring systems, including affordability checks, behavioural tracking, and intervention triggers
• Design and manage customer interaction frameworks, ensuring timely and effective interventions
• Analyse player data to identify risk patterns and recommend preventative measures
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on safer gambling and player protection
• Deliver training programs to staff across departments to promote a culture of responsibility
• Manage relationships with third-party tools and organisations (e.g., self-exclusion schemes, support services)
• Prepare reports for senior leadership and regulators, including KPIs and incident reviews
• Stay up to date with regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks Requirements:
• Proven experience in a safer gambling, compliance, or responsible gaming role within the UK gambling industry
• Strong understanding of UKGC regulations, guidance, and expectations
• Experience with customer risk assessment tools, AML frameworks, and affordability processes
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret behavioural analytics
• Excellent communication skills, with experience handling sensitive customer interactions
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across the organisation
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail Nice to have:
• Experience launching or scaling safer gambling frameworks in a startup or high-growth environment
• Familiarity with machine learning or automated risk detection systems
• Previous interaction with regulatory bodies or audits
• Certifications or training in responsible gambling or behavioural psychology
