Description

BearingPoint Capital is seeking a Senior Associate to join our growing M&A team in Stockholm, working across both Technology Due Diligence and Product Due Diligence.

As part of BearingPoint Capital, you will have the opportunity to fast-track your career in a start-up-like environment within a large organisation, gaining competencies and skills through a wide variety of challenging M&A projects for top-tier clients. Our client base includes leading Private Equity firms, family offices, corporates, and strategic investors across the region.

Our M&A service offerings are designed for companies where technology is central to the business strategy and investment thesis. You will join a highly skilled and collaborative team in the Nordics, working on local and cross-border engagements. We are looking for high-performing candidates with a passion for technology and software to support our clients across technology and product due diligence.

About BearingPoint Capital

BearingPoint Capital is a business unit within the global management consultancy BearingPoint. Capital is a global team that delivers M&A advisory services on both the sell-side and buy-side in transactions. Our service offerings include M&A strategy consulting, commercial and technological due diligence.

BearingPoint Capital draws on BearingPoint’s global consultancy network, with more than 6,500 employees helping leading companies in more than 75 countries achieve measurable and lasting success.

Your primary tasks will include:

Technology Due Diligence Execution: Contribute to buy- and sell-side technology due diligence engagements. This includes assessing tech strategy and roadmaps, architecture, infrastructure, and organisational capabilities to assess technology maturity, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.

Tech Financial Advisory: Provide input on IT financials, including detailed analysis of operating and capital expenditures (Opex/Capex), synergy modelling, IT carve-out costing, benchmarking, and cost estimation. Help clients understand the financial implications of technology decisions in the context of M&A.

Proposal & Pitch Development: Collaborate with senior team members to develop tailored proposals and sales pitches for prospective clients. This includes identifying client needs, shaping engagement approaches, and articulating the value of BearingPoint Capital’s advisory services.

Practice Development & Mentoring: Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and feedback to support their professional growth and ensure high-quality delivery.

Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Europe on engagements spanning multiple industries and geographies. Leverage the firm’s international network to bring diverse perspectives and best practices to client projects.

We are looking for top-performing individuals with the following characteristics and background:

4-5+ years of relevant experience in M&A advisory; or 4+ years in a technology company, PE-backed business, or in-house tech strategy role.

Proven experience delivering due diligence engagements in fast-paced environments, preferably with a focus on the technology domain.

Experience with product due diligence

  • including assessing product strategy, roadmaps, and competitive positioning.

Strong analytical skills spanning both IT financials (Opex/Capex analysis, synergy modelling, carve-out costing, benchmarking) and product/tech fundamentals (SaaS metrics, software architecture, build-vs-buy trade-offs, technical debt assessment).

Business-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results under pressure.

Collaborative team player with experience mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to a supportive team culture.

Excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality reports and client presentations.

MBA or Master’s degree from a leading university, with a strong academic record.

Candidate must have the right to work in Sweden and be fluent in Swedish; English proficiency is equally required as our primary working language.

For the right candidate, we can offer:
