Release Train Engineer

Description

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will secure efficient planning, execution, and delivery flow for our Agile Release Train (at Scania called VCT & VCF) within embedded electrical system development. The RTE works closely with the Product Manager and the Architect to coordinate teams, manage dependencies, and ensure alignment..

Key Responsibilities: VCT Planning & Execution -Lead PI Planning, iteration planning cadence, and cross-team synchronization. -Ensure pre-PI readiness and support post-PI follow-up and communication. -Maintain ART-level boards, plans, and KPIs. -Represent bus development within embedded at TRATON R&D, ensuring that bus-specific requirements, priorities, and technical conditions are integrated into planning and decision-making.

Flow & Delivery Coordination -Drive continuous flow improvement across teams. -Support teams in removing impediments and managing dependencies. -Facilitate system demos and integration events.

Roadmaps & ONEPDP Alignment -Support roadmap creation with PM and Architect. -Track progress against milestones and escalate deviations. -Participate in review of ADs/PDFs and relevant engineering decisions.

Risk & Issue Management -Facilitate risk analysis and transparency across the ART. -Ensure clear communication and structured escalation paths.

Continuous Improvement -Lead Retrospectives. -Identify and drive resolution of systemic issues impacting delivery or quality.

Competence profile: Experience -3–5+ years as RTE, Chief Scrum Master, or Agile Program Manager. -Experience in large-scale product development (automotive/embedded preferred). -Hands-on experience with SAFe or similar scaling frameworks. -Experence from embedded development within Scania R&D and/or TRATON R&D.

Technical Knowledge -Understanding of embedded software development and integration. -Familiar with architecture workflows and document reviews (AD/PDF). -Experience working with gated or hybrid development models (e.g., ONEPDP).

Skills & Tools -Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills. -Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and agile planning tools. -Excellent communication in English & Swedish.

Education -Batchelor within IT or engineering

Full-time. Hybrid 3 days/week on-site. The selection of candidates is done continuously. Good opportunities for an extension of the assignment.
