Experienced Linux System Administrator – GPU-Enabled VDI / HPC Environment

We are currently supporting Scania in the search for a highly skilled Linux System Administrator with strong expertise in automation, platform engineering, and infrastructure architecture.
This role focuses on deg, building, and maintaining a GPU-accelerated Remote Desktop (VDI) environment that supports advanced HPC workloads, including automotive simulations, visualization, and rendering.
Assignment Overview You will be part of a highly technical environment where performance, scalability, and reliability are critical. The platform is based on Rocky Linux / RHEL, utilizing X11 and Xfce4, and integrates technologies such as NICE DCV, EnginFrame (EF Portal), and SLURM to deliver high-performance remote graphical sessions.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain a Linux-based GPU-enabled Remote Desktop environment Develop and manage automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (primarily using Ansible) Ensure high standards of security, scalability, and performance Collaborate closely with HPC and infrastructure engineering teams Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures Required Skills & Experience Strong background as a Linux System Administrator (Rocky Linux / RHEL preferred) Solid experience with automation and IaC tools (Ansible or similar) Scripting skills (Bash required, Python is a plus) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, GitLab) Understanding of X11, Linux desktop environments (Xfce4, GNOME), and remote display protocols Knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring (Prometheus-based observability is a plus) Ability to design scalable, maintainable systems and work independently Meritorious Experience HPC environments and workload managers such as SLURM Remote visualization platforms such as NICE DCV, EnginFrame, or Open OnDemand Container technologies (Docker, Podman) and observability tooling If you have a strong passion for Linux, automation, and high-performance environments, and are interested in contributing to cutting-edge automotive engineering platforms, we would be happy to discuss this opportunity further.
