Fractional CTO/ Technical Lead (Health AI Startup) - PT - Worldwide

Location: Remote (Europe-friendly time zones preferred) Engagement: Fractional / Contract (initially ~15 hrs/week, flexible) Duration: ~6 months (with potential extension) Start: ASAP

About the Role

We are building Omea, an AI-powered health intelligence platform that turns complex health data (biomarkers, wearables, lifestyle inputs) into personalized health protocols and daily guidance. We are looking for a Fractional CTO / Technical Lead to design the system architecture, guide development, and help build the MVP ahead of a soft launch this summer and public launch in September.

The product is mobile-first with a supporting web app.

Key Responsibilities

• Design the overall technical architecture for the platform
• Define the AI orchestration layer for generating personalized health protocols
• Oversee development of mobile app, backend, and AI systems
• Evaluate and improve the current prototype stack (Supabase / Vercel)
• Define and help hire additional roles (backend, AI engineer, mobile developer, designer)
• Ensure secure handling of health data and awareness
• Guide the team from MVP to launch

Ideal Candidate

• Experience as CTO, Technical Architect, or Lead Engineer
• Experience building AI-powered consumer applications
• Strong background in backend architecture and cloud infrastructure
• Ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution

Technical Areas

Strong familiarity with several of the following:

• AI / LLM orchestration frameworks
• Backend architecture (Node.js / Python ecosystems)
• Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Vercel)
• Data pipelines and APIs
• Health data integrations
• Mobile architecture (React Native / Flutter / Swift / Kotlin)
• Supabase or similar backend platforms

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthtech / digital health
• Experience with wearable device APIs
• Familiarity with and health data security
• Experience deg multi-agent AI systems
