Chargebacks serve as a consumer protection mechanism, allowing people to reclaim funds for fraudulent charges or disputed purchases. However, this system is often exploited by bad actors engaging in fraudulent activities that harm the businesses behind the products you love. Our Dispute Group is dedicated to safeguarding these companies, using innovative technology to combat chargeback abuse and protect their growth. What you'll be doing: Develop a fully automated dispute platform to prevent, deflect, and recover chargebacks to reduce revenue loss. The system will support generating millions of dollars in yearly revenue, remove friction, and streamline obsolete operational processes. Build and maintain a high-performing, scalable chargeback management system handling tens of thousands of requests daily, originating from various input sources and reporting at changing rates. Define and optimize the scale, reliability, observability, and SLOs of the chargeback management platform.Requirements: 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex backend systems using modern programming languages, preferably with Node.js and TypeScript experience. Passionate and experienced at overseeing a products entire lifecycle. Experienced deg and working with large-scale distributed systems. Strive to uphold top-notch software engineering practices such as high-quality code, thorough testing, and clear & comprehensive documentation. Promote production, product, and growth mindsets. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with AWS or other public clouds.
