On your day to day: As the Backend Core Team Leader at Riverside, you will lead a team of backend and video engineers responsible for the companys media processing pipeline. Youll own the architecture and scalability of both real-time and offline processing systems, ensuring top performance and cost efficiency. Working closely with our AI, Product, and Infrastructure teams. Youll drive innovation in how Riverside processes and optimizes large-scale video and audio data using distributed systems and cloud-native technologies, while establishing best practices for monitoring, observability, and quality control across the entire processing stack. Beyond the technical leadership, youll mentor and grow engineers, fostering technical excellence and a culture of ownership, creativity, and impact.Requirements: 5+ years of experience in Backend engineering, with at least 2 years leading a team. Proven track record in building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance optimization, and cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Kubernetes). Proficiency in one or more programming languages,. Hands-on experience with media frameworks (e.g., FFmpeg, GStreamer, WebRTC) - a big plus. experience with video/audio processing, streaming, or rendering systems-a big plus.
