CAD Design Engineer (ECU Mechanical Integration)

We are looking for a CAD Design Engineer with experience of ECUs.

The work will start with collecting and reviewing customer-provided cab data, which includes:

- Cab CAD models

- Wiring harness layouts

- Routing constraints and installation limitations

Based on this information, the team shall develop a ECU Mechanical Design Specification, which will serve as an input for the ECU technical requirement document.

Outcome:

- Definition of the ECU mechanical envelope (overall dimensions)

- Mounting and clamping concepts suitable for truck cab installation

- Installation guidelines and constraints

- Clearly documented assumptions and boundary conditions

Challenges:

- Assuming suitable connector types, connector orientation, height and header allowance, and clearances

- Handling variability across different customers

- Making reasonable assumptions to define a standardized mechanical envelope

- Ensuring the envelope fits within customer cab constraints

- Verifying compatibility with wiring routing and serviceability requirements

- Managing one design fitting different assembly orientations
