Are you a seasoned professional chef or cook, dedicated to creating unforgettable dining experiences? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

Wilderness Center in east Iceland is looking for a cook for the hotel restaurant. The hotel is located on the beautiful Fjotsdalur, 45min drive from Egilsstadir.

The position as our hotel cook is a permanent full-time position from 20th May until 10th of October.

Tasks and responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and bake delicious dishes for our guests.

Familiarize yourself with the family/house recipes of the restaurant.

Oversee kitchen operations, including purchase and inventory management in consultation with the supervisor.

Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance.

Washing up, tidying, and cleaning facilities and equipment.

Collaborate with the kitchen team and other departments to create special dining experiences.

Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Skills and requirements

Culinary training / studies / experience.

Good communication skills and fluency in English.

Knowledge of Icelandic cuisine.

Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and national holidays
