"Human Epidemiology and Surveillance Officer Job Summary: The Human Epidemiology and Surveillance Technical Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of human infectious disease surveillance activities under the STRIDES Jordan Activity. Working under the supervision of the Epidemiology and Surveillance Advisor, the Technical Officer will provide technical and operational support across human surveillance workstreams, assist in the development of surveillance tools and materials, and coordinate with government counterparts and implementing partners as directed. The position contributes to strengthening infectious disease detection and reporting systems, building capacity of national surveillance staff, donor reporting, and workplan tracking, in alignment with Jordan’s national surveillance priorities and international best practices. Accountabilities: ● Supports day-to-day implementation of human infectious disease surveillance activities, including data collection, compilation, and reporting at the facility and national levels. ● Assists in the development and dissemination of human surveillance tools, reporting forms, guidelines, and training materials for health facility and national-level staff. ● Monitors and maintains surveillance protocols, data sets, instruments, manuals, and training materials for human disease surveillance activities. ● Conducts searches of published literature on evolving issues in infectious disease epidemiology, surveillance methodologies, and related public health areas. ● Responds to technical requests and inquiries from internal and external staff related to human surveillance activities. ● Supports implementation of surveillance activities under the STRIDES Jordan workplan and tracks delivery of outputs against agreed timelines. ● Ensures human surveillance technical implementation is consistent with best practices and meets donor contractual obligations. ● Supports engagement with the Ministry of Health and relevant national surveillance stakeholders, as directed by the Epidemiology and Surveillance Advisor. ● Coordinates with operations and finance teams to support timely and on-budget implementation of surveillance activities. ● Drafts human surveillance technical progress reports and contributes to all donor reporting requirements. ● Prepares and delivers presentations on surveillance progress to the project team and relevant stakeholders. ● Contributes to the development and review of annual workplans and human surveillance technical deliverables. ● Assists with the development of proposals and human surveillance technical design documents, based on direction from technical leadership. Applied Knowledge & Skills: ● Working knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology, human surveillance systems, and related public health concepts, including familiarity with WHO APSED/IHR frameworks and indicator-based surveillance. ● Understanding of Jordan’s public health system, national surveillance structures, an
